Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
This coming Sunday we will be celebrating the feast of The Most Holy Trinity - reminding us that in God there are three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Saint Patrick used a shamrock to illustrate the mystery of the Trinity: it has three leaves but is it just one plant - just as within one God, there are three divine persons who love and guide us.
I am happy to inform you that Father Lorenzo has confirmed our celebration of First Holy Communion Mass to mark the commitment made by children who have celebrated their First Holy Communion this year. Families are invited to join us on Monday 1st July at 2:00pm in the top hall. If your child has made their Communion this year, please let the school office know as we would like to include them in this special occasion.
On Tuesday 19th June all children in year 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be taking part in their sports day. We will be leaving the school at 9:30am to make our way on foot to Regent’s Park Athletics Track. Parents are welcome to join us on the walk or meet us at the running track. The day will consist of organised track and field events and of course we will be having a tug of war and parent races! Please make sure children are dressed in full PE kit, wearing trainers, have applied sunscreen, have a sun hat, plenty of water to drink and a packed lunch. We will keep an eye on the weather so in case it is rainy, please dress for the weather. I look forward to seeing you there!
Nursery and Reception will have their sports day on Friday 21st June and KS1 children on Tuesday 25th June at the school. Events start at 9:30am. Families are warmly invited to come along to cheer the children on and join in!
A reminder to parents who have children joining our Reception and Nursery classes in September that the induction meeting will be taking place on Wednesday 26th June at 2:00pm. You will be given further starting information as well as a date for a 1:1 meeting with your child’s future class teacher. Representatives from our uniform supplier, Ace Clothing, will also be available to enable you to view uniform/sizes and order if you so wish.
While the weather is still changeable and wet, children must please come to school wearing coats.
Please note our term dates for the next academic year have been amended to reflect the change in the date of the early May Bank Holiday from Monday 4th to Friday 8th May to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Clare O’Connor

NOTICES AND REMINDERS
Class 4’s Assembly
Yesterday class 4 presented an assembly about the great fire of London. We practised very hard and did so well! We had lots of facts and information to share and our assembly was very interesting indeed. We delivered our lines perfectly and sang beautifully. Thank you to all our parents who came along to enjoy our presentation. By Shaye and Tamara, class 4
In art club the children decorated their own ceramic mugs and some of them made masks!
Chance to Shine - Year 6 visit Lord’s Cricket Ground
On Monday 10th June, Year 6 went to Lord's Cricket Ground for the Chance to Shine schools' open day, along with 600 other students from across the country. Pupils were joined by England cricket legend Matt Prior as they took part in a range of different activities at one of cricket’s most famous venue.
The children learnt about the values of cricket, focusing on teamwork, perseverance and fair play. They took part in a range of activities including cricket games in the MCC Cricket Academy, a cricket quiz in the private boxes and cake decorating. The children had a great day and enjoyed the activities and mixing with some greats of the game!
Year 6 visited Lord’s on Monday where we took part in a variety of activities. These included decorating brownies, playing indoor cricket and doing a pop quiz. This trip has been one of the highlights of our year! It great to get the chance to meet famous cricketers and have a day of fun and we really hope we get to visit Lord’s again before we leave St. Edward’s.
Fun Fact: Lord’s Cricket Ground is the most famous cricket ground in the world and it has been standing for over 200 years! By Nicole and Jamie

In Class 1, our current topic is 'Friends'. In this topic, we will discuss what it means to be a friend, how we make friends and how we become a friend of God. This week, we have focused on how important it is to have friends and be a better friend. Class 1 came up with these ideas:
This topic is important to us as we look forward to building on our current friendships and making lots more friends as we continue in St Edwards.
Westminster Tri Golf Tournament
On Monday, St Edward's went to play in the Tri Golf tournament. Most of us have tried mini golf but we haven't really play real golf before. We took part in fun activities such as Drive for Show, Chipping and Aiming. It was really great to learn a new sport and to take part in a competition. We came in 2nd place! It was surprisingly enjoyable and I think other people should try it too! By Gracie, class 12
