Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
As we read and listen to the parable of the Prodigal Son at Mass this Sunday, we will be reminded of God’s merciful and forgiving nature. Forgiveness is one of God’s greatest gifts to us and, as we are all part of God’s family, we should try our best to forgive one another.
Next week Wednesday photographers will be coming to our school to take individual and sibling photos. Please make sure that children are wearing their full uniform - including ties. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase these photos - order details to follow.
Please don’t forget to collect your sponsorship for Mary’s Meals - our Lenten appeal. All the money collected will go towards providing a daily meal to children in school in some of the poorest areas of the world. Thank you in advance for your generosity in supporting this very worthy cause.
Wishing all our St. Edward’s mothers and grandmothers a happy mother’s day! Thank you for all you do! I hope you have a relaxing day on Sunday!
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Clare O’Connor

NOTICES AND REMINDERS
Year 4 learn about electricity
Year 4 have been building circuits in science this week. They have been learning all about conductors and insulators. The children now know why metal is used in electric plugs and light bulbs and why electrical wires are covered in plastic. They experimented by using an energy source to convert electrical energy into another type of energy, i.e. light.
Nursery says ‘thank you’ to their brilliant mums!
Our Nursery children have been busy this week creating special surprises to say thank you to their mothers for being the kindest and best mums ever!
Come to school dressed smartly in full school uniform on Wednesday the 3rd April, ready to have your school photo taken. Remember to wear your tie! Individual and sibling photos will be taken.
Remember to put your clocks forward by an hour this weekend!
OUR RE CORNER
In year 2 we have been learning about making a new start. During the time of Lent we remember that Jesus gives us all an opportunity to change and start over. We can make a positive change by giving up things that take up our time, and serving others instead. These are some examples we thought up: making a cup of tea for mum or dad, letting our friends go first when we play a game or helping with tasks at home. In year 2 we are thankful for new beginnings.
Congratulations to Philipp on winning a medal at the National Cadet League for Table Tennis England.
The National Cadet League (U15s) and National Junior League (U18s) are competitions aimed at grass root players looking to experience a competition. Philipp competed at the Greenhouse Centre and we are very proud of his achievement!
