HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

Tomorrow is our Summer Fair!  Please do come along and enjoy the afternoon with us - there will be plenty of fun, games, stalls and good food!  The fair starts at 12:30pm and finishes at 3:30pm with a £1 entry fee for adults.  There will be a BBQ and plenty of delicious food, and many games and stalls to keep the whole family entertained.  The Summer Fair has always been a great St. Edward's community event so I do hope to see you there!  I wish to thank all our parents for their ongoing support and generosity in helping prepare for the event.

Next Friday 6th June we will be celebrating our whole school Art Day.  There are plenty of exciting artistic activities planned for all our budding artists to try their hand at.  Please provide your child with a t-shirt for the day - one that you don't mind getting messy!

A reminder that the third session of the free WAES parent workshop 'Supporting your child with reading and writing' will be happening at 9:00 on Friday 6th June.

There are some important dates coming up in July for our Year 6 children and parents.  Please make a note of these in your diary:

  • 12th July - Year 6 Production 2:00pm
  • 16th July - Year 6 Leavers Mass at 2:00pm
  • 18th July - Year 6 Disco 5:00-7:00pm
  • 19th July - Leavers Assembly at 9:00am

We have been experiencing very hot weather this week, possibly next week too, and we want the children to enjoy their break times safely.  Please make sure your child has applied sunscreen, is wearing a suitable sun hat and has plenty of water for both in the classroom and at playtime.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you at the Summer Fair tomorrow!

Best wishes,

Miss C O'Connor

Dear Lord Jesus,  thank you for the gift of faith.  Please increase the faith in our family and help us to remember that we can always put our faith and trust in you.  Amen.

ATTENDANCE

A extra special well done to class 3 on achieving 100% attendance this week.  Class 12 achieved 97.3% attendance.  They are the winners of our attendance trophies this week!

PUNCTUALITY

Being punctual is an important life skill.  Please make sure your child is on time for school each morning.

NOTICES AND REMINDERS

FS2 Assembly

On Thursday, FS2 had their first class assembly. The focus of their assembly was all about how we use our imagination.  FS2 did so well in learning their lines, singing their songs and joining in throughout. We are so proud!

To reward the children for their hard work, they enjoyed a special fruit picnic during snack time in the afternoon.

KS1 visit Paddington Basin

KS1 went on an exciting trip to Paddington Basin this week. This was our third event with the Young Readers Programme with The National Literacy Trust. We made origami book marks, visited a real kitchen and made Super Food Salads, listened to an exciting story teller and chose our new books! We had such a fun day out and we are so excited to read our new books!

Summer Fair Preparations

The school was a hive of activity today with everyone doing their bit to help out with our Summer Fair preparations.  Our year 6 children did a brilliant job preparing delicious healthy vegetable skewers for tomorrow's barbecue.  Don't they look delicious!
