Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
I am extremely grateful to everyone who supported our MacMillan Coffee Morning - it was wonderful to see our St. Edward's community come together to support a worthy cause such as MacMillan. Everyone who attended enjoyed the vast array of delicious cakes and Costa coffee on offer. Charity is at the heart of our school ethos and it is always wonderful to see how generously St. Edward's supports those less fortunate. Thank you.
As the wet and chilly autumn weather is drawing in, please ensure that children are dressed in full winter uniform as from Monday. Coats need to be the official school coat available from Ace Clothing - no other coats are allowed please. Ties must be worn at all times and only black shoes (no trainers) are allowed. Children need to have their full PE kits in school - this includes the school tracksuit and trainers as, weather permitting, PE lessons will be held outside.
We are now accepting applications for Nursery and Reception September 2018. If you have a child or know of a family member/friend whose child was born between 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2014 and 01/09/2014 and 31/08/2015, please ask at the school office for details on how to apply. You are also invited to attend one of our open events - dates below.
Year 6 parents please note that Secondary Transfer applications need to be submitted by 31st October. Please visit the Westminster City Council website for more details. Please contact the school office if you need further assistance or advice.
Data Collection, Free School Meal/Pupil Premium and Photographic Consent Forms were sent home recently - thank you to those families that have returned theirs. We are still waiting for a number to be returned though. It is essential that the school holds the correct emergency contact details and up to date information on children, so I ask that you please return these to the school office at your earliest convenience. We are offering a free tie to every child whose forms are handed in.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Clare O’Connor

NOTICES AND REMINDERS
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Thank you for all the delicious cakes donated to our MacMillan Coffee Morning and a big thank you to all the parents and staff who came along to enjoy coffee and cake. Thank you also to Costa, Melcombe Street for providing us with freshly brewed coffee! This afternoon we also enjoyed a cake sale to make the most of the tasty cakes! All proceeds raised will go to MacMillan to aid the valuable work they perform in supporting those with cancer. I will update you on the total raised in next week's newsletter. Thank you once again for your generosity and support!
Class 13's Assembly
Class 13 performed a fantastic assembly this week on the book Wonder. The book is about a 10 year old boy called August, who goes to mainstream school for the first time and the struggles he faces. The assembly focused on the importance of being a good friend and if you have the choice between being right and being kind, you should always choose kind.
Well done class 13 - that was a great assembly!

Year 5/6 Tag Rugby
On Wednesday we had a rugby tournament in Regent's Park. On our way there we were all very excited as we knew we stood a good chance of winning. When we arrived we trained with the coaches from Marylebone Boys. We had an enjoyable time practising. We then had lunch and then it was time for our match! We lost our first match and almost thought we were going to lose the whole tournament. However, Mr Abbas told us how to do better and we ended up beating our rivals! We came second overall and we we had a great time! Hopefully we can win next time! by Levio
