Friday 21st July - Issue 37

Dear Children, Parents, Carers,  Staff and Governors,

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of our school year and we are closing for the summer holidays.  As we finish this term I would like to thank everyone, children, staff, parents and governors for all the hard work they have done and their dedication over the past year.  It has been a very successful year for St. Edward's in that our Year 6 children achieved excellent results in their SATs, we have had some amazing events such as the Summer  Fair, Christmas Fair, Summer Party, World on a Plate/International Day and the Year 6 Disco.  All of these events have brought our community together and have been very enjoyable for everyone!  The children have been on so many outings, cultural and sporting events over the year and I wish to commend our children on their behaviour when out representing our school.

I wish to bid farewell to our Year 6 children who are off the secondary school - always remember the values you have been taught at St. Edward's, be true to yourselves and remember: 'To help one person to grow is to help to build the World'.  Good luck!

We also say goodbye to Mr Girt, Miss Woodruff, Miss Canton, Mr Bunting, Mr Richard and Mr Gray - we wish you every success and blessings for the future!

After four years of fantastic support Mrs D'Souza is leaving us as a Governor. She has been an outstanding Governor and we know this is not the last we will see of her, as she will be back regularly to visit. Thank you Mrs D'Souza!

I  wish all staff, parents and children a very enjoyable and safe holiday period.  I look forward to seeing all of the children back in school on Monday 4th September at 8:55am.

Best wishes,

Miss Clare O'Connor

Dear Lord Jesus, please help us to choose wisely and to keep growing in goodness, to become the best that we can be.  Amen.

Year 4 and 6 visit Lord's

Our year 4 and 6 children took part in the largest cricket lesson at a single venue.  Chance To Shine (UK) arranged for the Guinness World Record attempt at Lord's and St. Edward's were fortunate to participate! They are officially amazing!

WELL DONE to Class 10 who won our yearly attendance cup!
