Friday 28th April - Issue 27

Dear Children, Parents, Carers,  Staff and Governors,

A warm welcome back to all our children and families -  I trust you had a peaceful and joyous Easter.

We are now in our final term of the academic year and it promises to be a very busy time!  I wish to draw your attention to some important dates for your diary listed below, including sports day dates, so please make a note of these.

Thursday the 4th May our PTA will be hosting a cake and bake sale in the bottom hall from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Donations of fresh cakes/home baked goods will be greatly appreciated on the day.  Everyone is welcome to attend!

Letters for after school clubs have been sent out this week.  If you want your child to join a club, please sign up quickly as places are limited.

A reminder that children must have their PE kit in school ready for when they have a lesson. Physical Education is part of the school curriculum and all children need to actively participate in lessons and so it is essential that children have the correct kit and footwear.  Thank you for your co-operation.

Hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Best wishes,

Miss Clare O'Connor

Engagement Day at Lord's

On Thursday year 3 and 4 were lucky enough to go to Lord's for an Engagement Day - this meant that we got to watch a match between Middlesex and Sussex and also take part in some activities around the ground.  We did some sketching of the things we could see while the match was happening, as well as having a go at a Cricket wordsearch and completing a very tricky quiz!  After lunch some of us were able to have a go at bowling, some of us had a go at some fairground style games to practice different bowling skills and class 8 even had a go at playing a cricket match.

A thank you to our PTA from our School Council

St. Edward's School Council want to say a very big thank you to our PTA for giving every child at St. Edward's an easter egg. We all enjoyed the treat very much!

Lemon Jelly

The Lemon Jelly Performing Arts Club (dance, drama and musical theatre) starts back at St. Edward's next week for years 2 - 5.  It runs from 3:30 - 4:30 pm on a Thursday.  There are still some spaces if you would like your child to join.  Please ring 01858545599 or email to book a place.
