Friday 4th November - Issue 8

HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGE

Dear parents, carers and children,

It is lovely to see all our children back from half-term break well rested and ready to learn.  We have had a busy week back as always with all year groups involved in exciting learning experiences.

As the weather grows colder and Christmas approaches, it is natural that our thoughts turn to our loved ones who are no longer with us.  November is the month of Holy Souls with Monday having been All Saints Day and Wednesday All Souls Day.

We marked All Souls Day with a special Mass at the Church of Our Lady which our keystage 2 children attended.  I wish to say how proud I am of their outstanding behaviour with members of the congregation commenting on the children's respectfullness and smart appearance.

We will be commemorating Remembrance Day with various activities as we do every year. It is important to remember the sacrifices of the fallen and be thankful for these.  Please keep a look out for Royal British Legion poppies which will be sold in the playground before and after school next week.

A reminder that individual school photos will be taken on Tuesday 8th November.  Please ensure that children are dressed in the full and correct winter uniform.  All children in reception to year 6 children must be wearing ties.

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,

Miss Clare O'Connor

NOTICES AND REMINDERS

Class 11's Assembly

For our class 11 assembly this term we decided to go with a theme that became our motto the very first day of school.  This was to think positively and believe in yourself.  There were many people linked to this theme in our Religious Education studies.  Characters who believed in themselves and their mission such as Martin Luther King Jr.  We are all people who have dreams, dreams that are shaped by our beliefs.  No matter how big or small as a class we understand that we must believe that we can overcome the challenges that we face in life. Believing in ourselves gives us the confidence that will help us to achieve our goals.

Congratulations class 11 on a fantastic assembly!  Thank you to all parents who attended.

What have our Nursery children been up to?

Nursery have had a great week back after the half term break, exploring our new topic 'Houses and Homes'.  We have been talking about the houses we live in and the family members we live with.  Look at how busy we have been!

Free School Coats

Thank you to all parents who have completed the free school meals/pupil premium forms.  The majority of coats have been distributed to children. Any outstanding coats will be given out as soon as they arrive from our uniform supplier.  Parents who have not been able to complete the form in return for a free school coat, please ask at the school office.

Winter PE Kits

I have noticed that there are still a few children who do not have the correct winter PE uniform. As the wintry weather has arrived,  all children need to bring a full PE tracksuit to school in which to do their PE lessons as, weather permitting, we still have lessons outside.

New Lunch Menu
