Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
As Prince Harry and Meghan's big day draws closer, we are looking forward to our own royal wedding celebrations at St. Edward's! On Friday 18th May, children may come to school dressed in red, white and blue. At lunchtime we will be having a picnic lunch - children who receive school dinners will be given a picnic lunch and children who have packed lunch should bring in their lunch as usual. Children are invited to bring in picnic blankets that they can sit on to enjoy their picnic in the playground! There is no donation required for this event.
Good luck to all our Year 6 children who will be sitting their SATs tests next week. A free breakfast will be offered in the Year 6 classrooms for all Year 6 children from 8.30 on Monday 14th - Thursday 17th May inclusive. Mrs Pini, Mrs Wright and Ms Paul would particularly like to wish the children good luck - they have worked very hard in the last few weeks and deserve to do well. I have every confidence that the children will try their hardest to be the best they can be! A huge Thank you to the Year 6 team, Mrs Pini, Mrs Wright and Miss Paul, for their continuous hard work with Year 6 this year.
Parents who are interested in signing up for the free WAES 'Out and About' workshop must please contact the school office. This series of workshops will be focusing on making the most of outdoor learning and play spaces in London and will run for five sessions starting the 15th June. The programme will offer plenty of ideas for budget friendly outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy.
It is wonderful when children share their birthday with their classmates and parents are always so generous in providing party bags to hand out in classes. Small toys or items of stationery are examples of suitable party bag fillers, but please do not include party poppers. We are a nut free school so please take care not to put nut products in party bags. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
There is still time to enroll your child for our Whitsun half term sports camp starting Tues May 29th. Please register directly with The Elms - details can be found below.
Lastly, many congratulations to all the children making their First Holy Communion this weekend. Our prayers are with them on this very special occasion. May God bless them and may the love of Jesus shine in their hearts now and forever. A reminder that a special First Holy Communion Mass will be celebrated on the 12th of June for all St. Edward's children who have made their First Holy Communion this year.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Miss C O'Connor

Well done to class 4 (98.9%) and class 9 (99%) on winning the attendance trophies this week!
We had 73 lates this week - we need to keep working on being punctual for school! Remember the morning bell rings at 8:55 am. Children need to be in the playground ready to go into class by this time.
NOTICES AND REMINDERS
Class 7 make a music video!
On Thursday Class 7 welcomed Andy back to introduce the next phase of their air pollution project- making a movie for their song! The children learnt about green screen and started drawing the pictures that will be in the film. Each group worked on a verse and they decided how they would show this in the film. We are looking forward to seeing the end results!
Our Art Club children were very busy painting colourful pencil boxes to take home! Don't they look great?!
It was a close contest this week but More managed to scoop the house cup trophy! Well done!
